Snowbasin is a world-class ski resort located on the backside of the Wasatch Range. It is known for its expansive skiable terrain and having the “Greatest Snow on Earth”. It gained international acclaim when it served as a venue for the downhill and super-G events during the 2002 Winter Olympics.


Snowbasin offers several lift ticket options. Below are the differences between the options.
Snowbasin day lift ticket prices are available in fall each season. The pricing varies depending on your ski date with higher pricing on Fridays, weekends, and holidays. Children aged 4 and under can ski for free.
Snowbasin offers two types of season passes, which are available for purchase pre-ski season.
You can access Snowbasin on 2 types of Ikon Passes. Ikon passes are available for purchase pre-ski season until around the end of November and are ideal for people planning to ski at multiple resorts. The differences between the passes are highlighted below.
The Mountain Collective Pass provides 2-day access each to 24 ski resorts across 5 continents with no blackout dates.
Snowbasin Ski School offers some award-winning programs as well as group and private lessons. The lesson check-in location is outside the Learning Center, conveniently located where rentals can be picked up from.
The nearest town to Snowbasin Ski Resort is Ogden, Utah, located approximately 21 miles away. Skiers often stay in Ogden due to its convenient proximity to the resort, and because it offers a range of accommodations, restaurants, and amenities, as well as its own unique art scene and vibrant nightlife. Ogden is also close to other notable resorts within an hour’s drive including Powder Mountain, Park City Mountain, and Deer Valley Resort.
Although Snowbasin has only a few on mountain dining, they are all highly-rated.
Located at the top of the Needles Gondola, the lodge provides panoramic mountain views along with grill items, gourmet soups, artisan sandwiches, and a variety of local beers.

At the base of the mountain, Earl's Lodge serves breakfast and lunch. Their menu typically includes burgers, fresh salads, made-to-order sandwiches, and homemade pizzas.

Found at the top of the John Paul Express lift, this lodge offers stunning views of the Ogden Valley. It has a variety of food from Bavarian pretzels to hearty grill items.

There are no ski vacation packages to Snowbasin as it is one of the smaller Utah resorts. That said, there are ski vacation packages to the popular destination resorts in Utah.
January and February are a great time to go. Being a smaller resort, Snowbasin has smaller crowds throughout the season. However, it still attracts holiday goers in December, Martin Luther King weekend and President's Day weekend.
