Happo One Activities Closed

Happo Village is a full fledged Japanese ski town with all the facilities, amenities and activities you'd expect from a world class ski destination. Check out our Hakuba Valley page for a primer on everything from equipment hire, ski lessons, shopping, onsens, health services and various activities (we're talking bathing monkeys) that the area has to offer.

Festive February

Plan a visit to Happo One in February and you'll not only enjoy bundles of first class powder, but also a couple of awesome events too! During the winter months, the Riesen Slalom Competition takes place, which gives you exclusive access to the entire Riesen Slalom Course! Sign up and enjoy your time slot to ski or snowboard this iconic trail all to yourself! Also in February is the Fire Festival, a night time celebration which involves torchlight skiing, fireworks, and sake tasting on the slopes of Nakiyama!

Other activities

If you want a more custom snow adventure, the Evergreen Outdoor Center is a great place to start. Located at the foot of the mountain, it offers a variety of winter activities from backcountry tours, avalanche safety courses, instructor courses or just ski lessons. They've been in business since 2000 and can help you get the most out of your time in Hakuba. If you're feeling peckish after your lesson the ski school also runs the only on-slope vegetarian cafè next door!
