Steamboat Ski Resort Lift Tickets
Steamboat Ski Resort has several lift options including day lift tickets and different types of IKON Passes. Below is a breakdown of the lift passes and the key differences between the passes.
Day Lift Ticket
The day lift ticket can be purchased at the ticket office and online. If purchased online, you have to print the voucher and scan the bar code in the voucher confirmation at one of the pick up Kiosks in Steamboat Square.
- Mountain Access: This ticket will give you lift access to Steamboat only.
- Days Valid at Vail: Valid for the set days you’ve purchased the ticket.
- Ideal for: Unplanned ski vacation or a last-minute day trip to Steamboat.
Late Arrival Half-Day Tickets
Half-day “Afternoon Ticket” is available from 12:15 pm at a discounted rate. These tickets can only be purchased and used on the day, and allow access from 12:15 pm to 4:00 pm. Late Arrival tickets also include night skiing if it's available on the day.
A late arrival 3:00 pm ticket is also available on site and gives you access to the mountain from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm night skiing if it's available on the day.
Kids 12 & under ski free
Get a kids-free ticket with the same number of days if the parents or legal guardians purchase a 5-or-more day adult lift ticket.
IKON Pass
The IKON Pass offers unlimited access to 15 resorts and up to 7 days access each at 40 destinations.
- Mountain Access: This pass gives you unlimited and unrestricted access to Steamboat throughout the ski season.
- Additional Benefits: You can get discounts on retail, food and beverage. Also, share discounted lift tickets with friends and family. T&C applied.
- Ideal for: If you are planning to ski more than 7 days at Steamboat and are also interested in skiing other resorts.
IKON Base Pass
The IKON Base Pass offers unlimited access to 14 resorts and 5 days access each at 34 destinations with holiday date restrictions for some resorts.
- Mountain Access: This Pass gives you 5 days oaccess to Steamboat excluding holiday dates.
- Additional Benefits: You can get discounts on retail, food and beverage at selected destinations. Also, share discounted lift tickets with friends and family. T&C applied.
- Ideal for: If you are planning to ski for 5 days at Steamboat and are also interested in skiing other resorts with flexible ski dates depending on the resort access restrictions.
First Tracks Tickets
The first track daily tickets or first track season pass offers an early start on the mountain from 8:00 am and 8:15 am. Ticket must be purchased in advance and will be added on directly to your lift ticket or season pass. You can purchase online, at the Steamboat Ticket Office or Steamboat Central Reservations.
Steamboat Ski and Snowboard Lessons
Steamboat Ski and Snowboard School offer group and private lessons as well as ski programs.
- Group Lesson: This is a lesson a full-day lesson catered for a specific ability level for ages 3+.
- Private Lesson: This is a customized full or half-day lesson for individuals, groups, or families of the same ability level up to 5 people, ages 5 and above. Private lessons do not include lift tickets or rentals. The check-in location is at the yellow SnowSports flag by the stage in the base. For younger participants, the1 hour one-on-one Whippersnapper Private Lesson is targeted at toddlers ages 2 to 4 years. Lessons include equipment and lift ticket for the duration of lesson time ONLY. The check-in location is outside of the Mountain Camp facility adjacent to the Transit Center.
- Minibusters Lesson: This is a 5-week program designed for children ages 5 to 6 years of all ability levels. The lesson run from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm over a consecutive 5-week period starting from December on Saturdays or Sundays. The lesson price starts from $450 and a lift ticket can be added on for around $245. Lessons must be purchased in advance.
- Trailbusters Lesson: This is a program designed for children ages 7 to 17 years of all ability levels. The lesson run from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm over a consecutive 5-week period starting from December on Saturdays or Sundays. The lesson price starts from $450 and a lift ticket can be added on for around $245. Lessons must be purchased in advance. Note children may ride a lift without an adult.
- Little Toots: This is a ski-only group lesson designed for younger kids ages 3.5 to 4 years. The lesson run for 2 hours (a.m. or p.m.) over a 4-week consecutive Friday in January. The lesson price from $250 and must be purchased in advance, lift ticket can be add-on at no additional cost and is valid for the duration of the lessons. The check-in location is outside of the Mountain Camp facility adjacent to the Transit Center.
*Helmets are required for all SnowSports Lesson participants, ages 17 and under.

Nearest Town to Steamboat Ski Resort
The nearest town to Steamboat Ski Resort is Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The town’s main area is a short drive from the resort, approximately 5 miles away. Steamboat Springs is known for its hot springs, outdoor activities, and Western heritage. It is also home to Howelsen Hill Ski Area, a small town ski hill.

Oasis Sundeck
Oasis Sundeck is located atop the Steamboat Gondola in the Thunderhead building. The restaurant serves traditional American grill and drinks with views of the Yampa Valley.

The Range
The Range Food & Drink Hall is located at the base of Steamboat Resort at Steamboat Square. The restaurant serves a variety of food, including tacos, ramen, pizza, and more.

Steamboat Ski Resort traditionally opens its ski season from the end of November until mid- April. Optimal periods for visiting the resort typically include the post-holiday season, when the crowds have thinned, and the late-February to early-March window, a time when bluebird powder days are the most likely.
Steamboat offers plenty of amenities in the ski village including dining and shopping options, ski lockers, parking lots and complementary bus (Steamboat Springs Transit - SST) transportation between the ski area and the downtown area.
There are also plenty of winter activities to do including ice skating, horseback riding, snowmobile tours and more.
Skis, boots, poles and helmet starting from $42 per day for adults and $25 per day for children. Snowboard package is the same price without poles. The prices of equipment rentals vary depending on the dates, the most expensive being holiday dates.
Steamboat is conveniently located just 29 miles away from Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN). An alternative airport is Denver International Airport (179 miles from the resort), which services more flights.
