Ski Rental

Granted you’re not bringing your own skis or snowboard, there are countless private and resort-owned rental stores across Keystone. Amongst the most popular are Keystone Sports and Christy Sports.

Dillon and Frisco also host a healthy number of stores though at a lower price. Don’t forget many lodgings and accommodations offer package deals that include rental equipment, performance skis and boots. Separate services also exist to fit your equipment and deliver it straight to your door, only for a bit more.

Ski Lessons

Ski lessons are provided through Keystone’s extensive resort ski school. All ages are welcome, while both group and private lessons are offered. Ski School groups meet at various base areas, and offer standardised prices throughout the season.

Banking

Most major banks from Wells Fargo to US Bank are found in the nearby towns of Dillon and Silverthorne. Just don't expect to see Chase Bank here. ATMs are located at the mountain base areas and throughout the resort. Credit cards are also widely accepted in Keystone, and serve as the primary forms of payment.

Supermarkets

For everyday essentials, Keystone hosts several grocery stores, including a Costco Wholesale. This is the perfect spot if you’re satisfying the needs of a large family or group (membership card required).

For additional stores and merchandise, a large outlet mall stands in the nearby town of Dillon. Visitors can also find local Target and Walmart stores.

Most grocery stores will also be conveniently located next to liquor stores. That is because supermarkets in Colorado are prohibited from selling hard liquor alcoholic beverages, and will usually replace selections with “diluted brew.” Unless you prefer the taste of watered-down suds, explore a few of these side establishments and purchase the real thing.

Shopping

For the non-skiers in the group or for those just looking for a day off the slopes, the Outlets at Silverthorne are located 15 minutes drive away and has over 50 stores all with 30% - 70% off! 

Wi-Fi

The mountain is prime territory for those looking to escape society as there are no free Wi-Fi spots on it. Off mountain, you’ll find a few places that offer free wifi including cafes.

Reception, on the other hand, ranges from good to fair throughout most of the mountain. There are also free phone charging stations in most of the mountain-based dining venues.

Child Care Facilities

The River Run Nursery is open seven days a week from 8:30am to 4:00pm during Winter. Reservations are recommended at least two days in advance as spots fill up quickly. Alternatively, private child minding services may be available through large lodging venues.

Health and Wellbeing

Wind down after a long day of hitting the slopes and put your joints and back through the mill. Serenity Spa and Salon has a 60 minute Swedish massage which will set you back $105 USD ($144 AUD).

For any injuries, there is only one urgent care centre located directly in Keystone, while there are four neighbouring care centers 32 km outside the resort. A full-facility hospital, the St. Anthony Summit Medical Center, stands in the nearby town of Frisco.

Ski Patrol

It is best to consult with the local ski patrol at Keystone before rushing to any medical facility. Ski patrol huts can be found at the tops of many main lifts, and guides are available to answer whatever questions you may have. They can likely steer you in the right direction regarding which facility is best to treat certain kinds of injuries. They’ll also be able to provide you with more information regarding the mountains’ conditions, so you’ll know how to prevent accidents before they happen.

Tubing

For those who enjoy being yanked around on a snowmobile while sitting on a rubber ring, tubing and tobogganing facilities are available in the Keystone ski area. Tubing is a staple of the night skiing scene at the top of Dercum Mountain, while the nearby Frisco Adventure Park also hosts a great tubing hill only 20 minutes north of Keystone. It also hosts beginner skiing with a surface lift and a Nordic ski park.
