Sitting in Alberta, Marmot Basin provides an affordable alternative to skiing the Rockies. Although it doesn't see as much snowfall as other resorts in the region, the few crowds here means the powder stays fresher for longer, plus it has the second highest base elevation in Canada. The mountain offers up above and below the tree line terrain as well as a wide variety of runs. For lodging, nearby Jasper has a range of choices to suit all budgets.

Marmot has always been "home" for me. I grew up riding this mountain. I love the changes they've done over the last few years. All the high speed quads make for short lift lines even on the busiest day.... More

Great place to ski the Rockies without the crowds. Really good bang for your buck. Not as many powder days as some resorts but when you do get them there's less of a crowd to contend with making them that much better. Closest big city is Edmonton at 4 hours away.... More
